In a message to THQ employees, the company announced wisconsin surplus its dissolution and the sale of individual studios and franchises. Sega is through the acquisition of Relic's strategy-power, Koch Media is clawing wisconsin surplus Saints Row developer Volition and the Metro license.
The rights to Homefront will be sold to the authorized without the Sequel developer Crytek. Publisher Take 2 on the other hand takes Evolve, the new title of Turtle Rock Studios. Ubisoft is also there, the French supplement their portfolio with South Park: The Stick of Truth and assume THQ Montreal - Patrice Desilets thus regaining his former employer.
Here is the list of confirmed sales: Sega takes Relic (26 million $) Koch Media assumes Volition wisconsin surplus (22,300,000 $) and Metro (5.8 million $) Crytek takes over Homefront ($ 500,000) Take 2 takes Evolve ($ 11 million ) Ubisoft takes THQ Montreal ($ 2.5 million) and South Park ($ 3.2 million)
Overall, the auction will have earned about $ 100 million. Rumour has it that Take-Two has also caught the WWE license, the part of the insolvency proceedings was not - this is officially confirmed but not yet.

What a shame! Hopefully we see in the near future not more publishers perish. Although THQ might not always done everything right, it is a shame that they no longer exist now! Even sadder is when man considering that it's actually been a traditional company is. Also, I am curious what makes KOCH MEDIA now from Volition un Co.! Especially excited I am therefore also on Saints Row IV
Yup, most likely even. The Darksiders franchise could possibly be but there are still ... maybe that will someone snaps from the THQ remains. EA and MS have time at the Midway bankruptcy I think only later the NFL Blitz and Hydro Thunder get rights (could be wrong there but me)
Evolve offers for Take-Two nearly 10.9 million and the second bidder (Turtle Rock) 250,000 ??? Were I guess anonymous bids, but either Take.Two has overestimated or Turtle Rock has thought that they get the thing for a snapper, if no one else wants.
Tragic. Why could not catch EA or Ubisoft :(
Homefront also requires a heavy improvement. If they still want to make something of it as (the idea is not so bad ansich) they would make it in my opinion completely new. I thought the idea was really good, but I had so little fun.
Pity about THQ ... Was always my favorite one publisher. Although they have brought out partly License total crap (but who hath it not ^^) PS: What actually looking Borderlands RIP THQ image at the top? oO
I hope so blatantly violent, that makes someone halfway decent Destroy All Humans safe and what is really horny of it ... I have always liked the concept damn good. The implementation ... rather less. A Destroy All Humans by Rockstar would be nice: P
I went to Vigil Games, not to other games that have been published under THQ. Darksiders was just developed by Vigil Games, and the studio is probably close. Your beloved Red Faction can hope for another part because the studio was acquired. Nothing else I was doing;)
