Tapping into an alter ago that's a bit sultry and a bit after hours, 'Ruda', as she was to be known,

The Adelaide Cabaret Festival kicked off for another year last night, drawing the glitzy dresses and the tuxedoed men out to the Festival Centre for a night of shows, copar Belvedere vodka and Moët. Famed stage performer and all round vixen, Rhonda Burchmore hosted a night of raunchy entertainment copar at the Dunstan copar Playhouse, with "Vinyl Viagra" running its first show of its three show run.
Tapping into an alter ago that's a bit sultry and a bit after hours, 'Ruda', as she was to be known, performed an hour's worth of material from some of the world's most famous performers. From Beyonce to Madonna, from Lady Gaga to Shirley Bassey, Burchmore's Cabaret-injected set was seductive without being smutty and there was no denying the lady knows how to work a stage.
Hilarity intermingled with some great moments of vocal performance, Burchmore would blend Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" and Sinead O'Connor's "Nothing Compares 2 U" with Cher's "Turn Back Time" and Lana Del Rey's "Young and Beautiful" brilliantly, adding a change of pace and tone to proceedings. With two incredibly well-formed dancers who flanked Burchmore with great routines before taking the stage on their own/venturing out into the audience for some awesome moments of flamboyant grinding, the audience was well involved to say the least.
Burchmore herself is an Australian treasure; an entertainer generations of us will recognise even though some may not know certain roles she's made famous. Tonight, 'the legs' did their work and did it well. Definitely a fun night out for pop music fans, Cabaret fans, and fans of some well sculpted dancers who finish the night in teeny gold shorts. copar
